POST-PRODUCTION SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

We are a commercial post-production facility, located in the River North area of Chicago, providing our clients with an excellent creative process from ingest, to editorial, vfx, and finish.  We are a group that continually works on improving and refining our post pipeline, while having fun!  We have a talented award-winning team of creatives, amazing producers, and experienced Macgyver type engineers.

 

The Post-Production Systems Admin will support IT requests from fellow staff, clients, as well as, within the engineering group.  We are looking for someone who is relentless in researching solutions to solve issues, proactive, ability to prioritize and multi-task, as well as, meet deadlines.  A self-motivated individual who can work independently and with a team, is key.  This individual will have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical client and staff.  The IT group is very excited about the work we do and the company we work with, which is the type of person we would like to join us.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Design and maintain VFX environment and pipeline - Flame, Adobe, Nuke,

      Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, C4D, Vray, Deadline, and F-Track to mention a few.

 

* System imaging of a Mac, Windows, and Linux environment via puppet or similar.

 

* Support of AVID, Premiere, Baselight, and Resolve.

 

* Support / Maintain shared storage, renderfarm, virtual servers, and LTO tape libraries.

About the Role

Job Summary

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Organize notes and revisions with clients
  • QC and manage deliverables
  • Track Physical and Digital Assets
  • Digital Asset Management
  • Client relations and requests
  • Server Media Organization
  • Media Sharing Software maintenance and organization
  • Shoot specification lists, oversee music cue sheets
  • Evaluate and recommend creative postproduction tools/software
  • Evaluate department needs and/or problems by combining and applying problem solving analysis and production experience, then recommend efficiencies, procedures and directions

Requirements:

DESCRIPTION
The Pipeline Technical Director (TD) is responsible for implementing detailed technical solutions to aid in production of high end visual effects for feature films.  Pipeline TDs are required to work closely with the VFX production staff and report to the Pipeline Lead and Director of Pipeline. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a strong general technical understanding of visual effects production processes, as well as an ability to problem solve, collaborate and multi-task in a dynamic production environment. 

 

Responsibilities:
  • Development and maintenance of pipeline tools and proprietary VFX platforms
  • Integration of VFX workflows with existing systems and third-party software platforms
  • Support, troubleshooting, and escalation of VFX production technical issues 
  • Documentation of the pipeline for both end users and other developers
  • Collaborating with VFX production staff, department heads, and support departments on shared solutions to common problems
  • Assist remote VFX vendors with navigation of outward-facing transfer tools and portals
  • Identifying inefficiencies in production processes and making relevant recommendations for optimizations and improvements
  • Strategizing on how automated processes can best manage finite resources like disk space, network/transfer bandwidth, licenses, and processor hours 
Essential Skills:

Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting a primarily Windows studio infrastructure, covering Workstations, Laptops, Networking and Storage. This role would report into the Head of Studio and work in collaboration with the IT team at our Shanghai office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain and support windows workstations & servers
  • Help troubleshoot workstation and laptop issues
  • Help deploy and install software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier and Foundry Flix
  • Troubleshoot networking (wired & wifi) related issues for workstations and laptops
  •  Help manage EMC Isilon based storage, including managing permissions and access control
