WHAT IS A PIPELINE & WORKFLOW TD?

Pipeline is all about getting the correct data to where it’s needed as reliably and efficiently as possible. Workflow is all about making the interface to the pipeline intuitive and artist-friendly. Sometimes these requirements can seem conflicting, yet if both sides are not equally factored into the design of tools and infrastructure they will ultimately not deliver what our artists need.

We’re looking for a TD who loves the little details as much as the big picture. Who loves interacting with and supporting artists as much as designing and implementing the most effective solutions.

If that’s you, we want to hear from you!

YOUR MISSION

  • To be an integral part of designing and building a new, state of the art VFX and Finishing pipeline.
  • Support Supervisors, Production teams and artists by developing and integrating tools to meet immediate production needs, while furthering the long-term pipeline goals.
  • Collaborate with fellow TDs and developers and work to the highest design and coding standards to keep code clean and minimize the accumulation of restrictive legacy.
  • Take ownership of your own work, priorities and schedule while being understanding of the big picture priorities of the company.
  • Report to, and advise the R&D Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Expertise in python scripting for Nuke, Shotgun, Maya, and/or Houdini.
  • C++, PyQT, and Linux shell scripting would also be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D artist departments, workflow and techniques.
  • A disciplined approach to coding standards, naming conventions, documentation, etc.
  • Versatility to adapt as priorities shift, and a strong interest in growing your skill base.
